2000 Pittsburgh Mega Men End Season on a High Note..

The 2000 Pittsburgh Mega Men ended their season on a high note at the Ronald McDonald tournament. The boys compiled a 2-1-1 record against some quality competition, but fell just short of advancing to the championship round. For the year, the boys compiled a 8-8-1 record against quality competition, with many making significant improvement as the season progressed. Still plenty of work to be done to play with the big boys, but that gives the boys something to strive for...

I'd personally like to thank everyone for their commitment to the team and for the tremendous instruction Coach Yuri and his staff provided. The boys were presented with a lot of new information\training throughout the season and you could really see some things starting to click towards the end. Great job coaches!

This experience, for me, has been both fun and rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the new folks this year and hope we've made lasting relationships. The growth the boys experience, playing against top competition, is what makes everything worth it. I truly hope you all enjoyed your time this Spring. I'm going to talk with the coaches and see what their thoughts are for the future. I truly would like to continue moving forward with the development for the boys. Thanks again to a great group of kids and parents for a fun filled season!

2000 Mega Men Win Three Rivers Cup Championship!

Congratulaions to the boys for a weekend of impressive, team oriented hockey! Each and every player contributed to the Championship! The Mega Men were facing predominantly 99 teams.

The boys began the tournament by knocking off the Hamburg Hawks 4-0, with a dominant effort. In the second game, the boys jumped out to an early lead 1-0, but were unable to put anymore pucks past the fantastice goalie from the Cazenovia Chiefs, despite outplaying and out shooting the Chiefs, the Mega Men lost 3-1.

On Sunday morning, the boys had to beat the Dearborn Belle Tire team to advance to the championship and set up a rematch with Casenovia. The boys were again relentless and jumped out to a 3-0 lead, on their way to a 5-2 win. On to the finals...

In the Championship game, from the drop of the puck, the Mega Men brought the relentless pressure that was evident all weekend, jumping all over Casenovia. Unlike the first matchup, the boys were able to get some pucks past the Casenovia goalie early and never looked back, claiming a decisive 5-0 win! Nice work fellas! Practice begins in less than three weeks. Let's look to build off the momentum created this weekend.

On another note, this weekend is the Town Tavern fundraiser. Please come out and support these young athletes. For more information on the fundraiser, please see the link to the right.

Although the tryout is open to all interested individuals, I ask that you give serious consideration to whether or not your child is capable of playing at this level. They should be playing at least a Squirt A Major level, unless organizational situations don’t allow.

The objective of the clinics is to give the areas top 2000 birth year hockey players the opportunity to continue the advancement of their individual skill sets, but more importantly, build their team centered skill sets. The clinics will also provide the opportunity for your player to be selected to the spring tournament team that will enter into at least three highly visible “AAA” tournaments.

The 2000 team is pleased to announce that newly appointed coach, Yuri Krivokhija will be conducting all on ice and team selection related to the tryouts. For an extensive list of Coach Krivokhija’s accomplishments, please visit our website at http://pittsburghmegamenaaahockey.blogspot.com/.

There will be a representative from the Mega Men organization at the first clinic to discuss the clinic objectives, the Spring tournament team and answer any of your questions.

Please submit your payment by 11/20/2009. Please make check payable to “Pittsburgh Mega Men Hockey”. My address is Robert Adamski, 3061 Marie Dr., Gibsonia, PA 15044. You must be paid in full by the above date to ensure your player is able to participate.

Clinic dates are listed below. Each of these clinics is mandatory, if you wish for your player to be considered for the Spring tournament team.

Sunday, Dec. 20th 6:30pm – 7:50pm
Sunday, Jan. 3rd 6:30pm – 7:50pm
Sunday, Jan. 10th 6:30pm – 7:50pm Final Clinic

Please have your player dressed and ready to hit the ice 20 minutes before each clinic start time. We will use this time to mentally prepare the players for the clinic with the objective of maximizing our ice time.

Please confirm your planned attendance as soon as possible, through email and direct any questions or concerns to me at radamski@consolidated.net.

The 2000 Pittsburgh Mega Men are not excepting any more skaters for the Clinics.

Folks,

Due to the number of players already registered for the 2000 Mega Men clinics, we regretfully can not accept any more players. We have reached our maximum number of players to hold viable sessions. For those that may have been interested, I apologize, but there were a lot of new folks this year.

Thanks for your interest and continued support!
